2020 was a turbulent and eventful year for all of us, but despite all the adversity, it was a successful year for IG Hemp: IG Hemp grew strongly this year and elected a new, diverse board at the end of the year, which is a good reflection of the entire membership: From “old hands” to PhD scientists to dynamic top performers and start-up entrepreneurs, everything is included.
In particular, we would of course like to mention the election of our CEO Phil Wietlisbach to the board of IG Hemp, who follows current world and hemp politics with interest and commitment. He now assumes the function of secretary.
IG Hemp is in regular exchange with this. They have achieved a great deal at the political and regulatory level in recent months. Keywords are: THC exemption permits, suspension of tobacco tax by the Federal Court, experimental article for pilot trials, cultivation for export, first steps towards a regulatory law, abolition of the requirements of the EU catalog of varieties.
The primary goal of the newly assembled board remains to strengthen and professionalize the industry. The board has therefore decided on some structural changes on the occasion of its last meeting: Claudio Buholzer and Thomas Bär will form a co-presidency in the future.
Nothing stands in the way of another successful year of community interest.
