That\u2019s why Legalize it! collects, among other things, information and documents on specific cases to shed light on this practical aspect of Swiss cannabis law<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n For us, this perspective is part of a pragmatic cannabis policy. On the one hand, we need to discuss what future regulations might look like. On the other hand, we should also consider the impact that existing regulations have on users. <\/p>\n\n\n\n In parallel with the current legal situation, Switzerland is working on a potential new legal framework. The proposed Cannabis Products Act (CanPG) aims to more comprehensively regulate cannabis for non-medical purposes. The focus is particularly on protecting public health, safeguarding minors, and determining how production and distribution could be regulated in the future. <\/p>\n\n\n\n However, it is important to distinguish between political developments and current law: The CanPG will not yet be law in 2026.<\/strong> Following the public consultation, the relevant committee of the National Council took note of the feedback received in May 2026 and tasked its subcommittee with revising the bill. Work on the future model will therefore continue. <\/p>\n\n\n\n If such regulation were actually adopted at a later date, it would fundamentally change Swiss cannabis law. Instead of a broad ban on non-medical THC-containing cannabis, a regulated system for production, distribution, oversight, and consumption would then have to be established. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Anyone who wants to follow political developments more closely can find a continuously updated overview of the Cannabis Products Act and the parliamentary initiative<\/a> at Legalize it!
